We have been on the search for a white + gray area rug for the nursery. This is a compilation of some of the choices we have found recently, all featuring bold + modern patterns.
a. ZigZag Rug. West Elm. 3’ x 5’. $129. This rug is very thin and kind of “hairy.” I don’t know how else to describe it, but it seems that it would shed… like a dog.
b. Safari Rug. West Elm. 3’ x 5’. $109. This was my second favorite choice, after the Pottery Barn Kids Chevron Rug. Michael wasn’t crazy about it, though, so we keep looking…
c. Swirl Rug. West Elm. 3’ x 5’. $129. Love this rug… but maybe not so much for the nursery? It is the perfect color combination, but it is also pretty thin… and not too soft.
d. Chevron Rug. Pottery Barn Kids. 3’ x 5’. $99. This was the first rug I found and thought it was the for-sure choice, but when we saw it in person, it was very itchy and not really the ideal surface to have a baby on. To make our decision further, the gray + white sold out very quickly… which works out, because I don’t really want a rug that is in a thousand other nurseries!!
e. ZigZag Rug. Urban Outfitters. 3’ x 5’. $39. Fantastic price - I was very excited when I found this option, but then I read some of the reviews. A few people posted pictures of the ‘actual’ rug when they received it, and it was very poor quality (the edges seemed to bleed).
f. Herringbone Rug. Urban Outfitters. 5’ x 7’. $74. Also a fantastic price - although this has the same reviews as the ZigZag Rug. It also doesn’t come in 3’x5’ size.
g. Cosmo Trellis Hand Hooked Rug. nuLOOM. 3.6” x 5.6”. $99. I found this rug on Gilt yesterday, showed Michael, and we agreed that this was the rug! We both loved it, and the extra .6” on each side was helpful to fill out the room a bit more. I purchased it right away… and then it sold out :) The gray is significantly darker, but we think the contrast will be nice.
We’ll let you know how it looks when it arrives!!!
